Arknights: Endfield dated for PS5 – tactical action and industry
Hypergraph has set a PlayStation 5 release date for Arknights: Endfield, confirming a January 22 launch and detailing how its combat, exploration, and building systems interlock. The studio positions the game as an anime-style action RPG with a strategy-first mindset. Players step into the role of the Endministrator, leading a squad of Operators across the hazardous world of Talos-II while establishing industrial infrastructure. The official breakdown focuses on real-time 4-Operator combat and the Automated Industry Complex that powers progression and tactics. Story content is planned to continue unfolding after release.
Talos-II – a frontier shaped by survival

Set more than 150 years after pioneers carved out the first “civilized zones,” Talos-II remains a place of stark beauty and constant risk. Beyond guarded borders lies a vast wilderness marked by old threats and emerging dangers. As Endministrator, you guide Operators to protect settlements and push civilization outward – exploration and development move in step as Oripathy engines and facilities rise alongside your growing foothold.
Real-time squad tactics – how fights work

- Party of four: Battles field up to four Operators simultaneously, and players can swap control between them at any time.
- Attack flow: Basic attacks chain into strikes that build stagger on enemies while restoring SP.
- Stagger and Execution: Filling an enemy’s stagger bar opens a vulnerable window where they take increased damage – enabling a powerful Execution that deals heavy damage and recovers more SP.
- Abilities and combos: SP fuels each Operator’s skills, including ultimate abilities. Under specific conditions, abilities can be chained to trigger combo skills, rewarding precise positioning and timing.
The result is fast but deliberate combat – built to emphasize planning and tactical choices rather than pure reflex.

Automated Industry Complex – building what powers your run
Outside combat, a defining layer is the Automated Industry Complex (AIC), a system that links to nearly every gameplay thread. Players design and operate automated production lines across a variety of facilities, generating gear, medical supplies, and other resources. These networks support character growth and actively shape how you explore new areas, manage logistics, and tackle encounters.

To reduce friction, Endfield introduces a Blueprint system: once unlocked, entire production lines can be built, copied, relocated, or dismantled with a single action. Custom layouts can be saved and shared with other players. As industrial zones expand, efficiency increases and trade routes emerge, with regions specializing in certain outputs – making where and how you build as important as what you produce.
Story – what waits beyond launch
At release, events on Talos-II begin to point beyond the civilized ring. Incidents in Valley IV set the stage, then attention shifts to Qingbo Stockade near Wuling, where contact is suddenly lost with Supreme Chief Tangtang as reports of Bonekrushers surface. The convergence signals a deeper threat tied to the Corrosion and a potential Blight Tide. New regions, companions, and player-driven choices will shape what follows, with Tangtang positioned for a central role in the unfolding chapter.
