Expedition 33’s “Thank You” PS5 update lands with a new level and tools

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has received a major “Thank You” content update on PlayStation 5. The patch introduces a brand-new level, Verso’s Drafts, along with fresh combat encounters, added gear and customization, and new music by composer Lorien Testard. A robust photo mode headlines the toolset additions, while quality-of-life features streamline build management. Language support has been expanded to 19, and late-game players get new boss fights in the Endless Tower. The update is available now and is free.

New level: Verso’s Drafts

The update’s centerpiece is Verso’s Drafts – a level with a childlike, wonderland-style aesthetic inspired by Verso’s backstory. It features new environments to explore, battles to fight, and additional cutscenes that flesh out the character’s childhood.

Composer Lorien Testard contributes new tracks for the level:

“I lived the creation of the last songs of the OST as a farewell to this whole adventure and to the characters who have accompanied my life and imagination for five years… We had the chance to compose music for a very special level, a deep and playful part of Verso’s childhood.”

Gear, Luminas and customization

• 13 new weapons to unlock – some themed to the level’s childlike vibe (including a candy scythe).
• 16 additional Luminas for broader combat customization and build variety.
• More costumes and hairstyles for each character, spanning chic to intentionally goofy styles.

Photo mode: deep creative controls

The newly added photo mode offers extensive control for creators and screenshotters. It includes 33 filters, angle and field-of-view adjustments, color grading, and lighting tools with 10 fully customizable lights. It also works during cinematics, and the camera can travel an infinite distance without collision.

Senior Gameplay Programmer Florien Torres: “You will be able to use this during cinematics… With the photo mode camera, you can travel an infinite distance without collision – the team wanted to go all in and give full access to the player.”

Quality-of-life and accessibility

• Lumina filters when searching and the ability to save preset Lumina loadouts.
• Option to abandon battles.
• Expanded text language support: Czech, Ukrainian, Mexican Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian – bringing the total to 19 supported languages, with more planned.

Endgame: Endless Tower escalates

Late-game players can expect new boss battles within the Endless Tower. Progression focused on parrying will unlock new Pictos, costumes, and additional gear. The studio also teases an extra challenging surprise at the end of the trailer.
