Pigment Realm Shakes up Fragpunk in Season 4 – Full Spectrum Bash
FragPunk turns one year old on February 1 and marks the date with Season 4 – Full Spectrum Bash. The headline addition is Pigment Realm, a PvE mode that leans into roguelike structure and replayable progression. Bad Guitar Studio frames it as a pivot toward deeper single-player and co-op runs, where builds emerge mid-match rather than in menus. The update also adds a new Lancer, Wildstyle (Melody Lovelock), and expands the map pool with three PvE arenas and one new Shard Clash map. Narrative threads from the Toy Frontline incident tie directly into the new mode’s setup.
What Season 4 Delivers at a Glance

- New mode – Pigment Realm: a roguelike PvE experience with in-run deckbuilding, scaling drops, and layered progression.
- New Lancer – Wildstyle: a graffiti-themed kit centered on the “Stained” debuff and area control.
- New maps: Pigment Realm gets Acme Underpass, Art Town, Collège Alpin; Shard Clash adds Caesarea.
- New meta systems: hero-specific levels, talent trees, and leaderboards to support long-term play.
Pigment Realm – a Roguelike Turn for Pve

Pigment Realm replaces pre-configured decks with an in-match “card backpack”. Power now comes from combat – defeated monsters can drop cards, and the drop rate scales with the size of your squad, encouraging coordinated runs. The team highlights enhanced randomness, extended progression, leaderboard-driven grind, and richer loot as the pillars of this design.
Card Economy and Buildcraft

- Shard Card Crafting: spend Crystals to draw and pick new Shard Cards. Cards active in your hand slot have no usage limits or resource costs in this mode.
- Card Synthesis: combine three cards of the same name and level to upgrade. If a ground drop completes your trio, direct synthesis is possible without inventory juggling.
- Blessings: after set wave milestones, choose one of three blessings to further define your build.
Exploration and Resource Trade-Offs

Maps in Pigment Realm unlock progressively. Certain zones start sealed, and enemies will not spawn in unopened areas – letting squads control the tempo. The core decision each run: spend Crystals to draw more Shard Cards or to open new zones and push the route forward.
Persistent Growth Beyond a Single Run

Season 4 introduces a Perk System that tracks progress per hero in PvE. Each Lancer has a Character Level that rises only by playing that specific hero. Level-ups award Talent Points to invest in a permanent, out-of-match talent tree.
- Hero used: experience is tied to the character you played.
- Match duration: longer survival yields more experience.
- Waves cleared: in Endless mode, wave count scales your character experience.

New Lancer – Wildstyle and the "Stained" Effect
Wildstyle, a graffiti icon with an elite background, enters the roster with abilities that paint the battlefield – literally. Her kit revolves around applying Stained, which makes enemies slower, exposed, and more vulnerable to damage.

- Coat of Many Colors: spray self or allies for +15 HP of extra, regenerating health for the skill’s duration.
- Spray Paint: fire paint to create a temporary zone that slows, reveals, and increases damage taken; Stained lingers briefly after leaving.
- Wonderwall: deploy a device to cast a one-directional paint waterfall that blocks vision (not projectiles); enemies passing through are Stained. The device can be destroyed or expires, and the skill recharges automatically.

Following the Toy Frontline incident, Kepler recovered multiple toy-like monsters for research. A portion meant for the Pathojen Laboratory disappeared, then surfaced as a “mysterious package” in Wildstyle’s studio. Her glunite-infused paint inadvertently activated the creatures, setting the stage for Pigment Realm’s chaos.
Developer Perspective

“The Full Spectrum Bash will be the ultimate playground for all FPS players to enjoy,” says Xin, Producer at Bad Guitar Studio.
“We want to provide a gameplay mode that offers rich replay value. The Pigment Realm places a greater emphasis on a single-player experience where the core deck is constructed during gameplay rather than outside of matches.”

Maps Added with Season 4
Three arenas power the new PvE flow, while a fresh PvP venue expands Shard Clash. Each location is designed to service the mode it hosts – from wave routing and unlockable zones to classic round-based firefights.
- Pigment Realm: Acme Underpass, Art Town, Collège Alpin
- Shard Clash: Caesarea
Release Timing
Season 4 – Full Spectrum Bash coincides with FragPunk’s first anniversary on February 1.
Why This Update Matters
Roguelike structure, on-the-fly builds, and permanent hero growth signal a long-term PvE direction for FragPunk. If you enjoy experimenting with synergies and refining runs, Season 4 turns the game into a lab for iteration – one wave, one blessing, and one synthesis at a time.
