Ghost of Yōtei is getting a substantial update on November 24. The free patch 1.100.000 introduces New Game Plus alongside quality-of-life improvements for the base game. Players who complete the story can start a fresh run while keeping progress from their first playthrough. The patch also adds new difficulty options, progression rewards and expanded Photo Mode tools. According to the official announcement, an internet connection and a PlayStation account are required to download the update.

Release timing and availability

The update goes live on November 24 for all Ghost of Yōtei players as a free patch (version 1.100.000). New Game Plus unlocks after finishing the main story, making it a post-credits option for returning runs.

What New Game Plus changes

New Game Plus is designed to let you restart the campaign without losing your build. Key additions include:

  • Carryover progression – begin a new run with all armors, abilities and weapons earned in your first playthrough.
  • Harder difficulty options – additional challenge settings beyond the base game.
  • Two new Trophies – extra objectives tied to the NG+ experience.

New currency, upgrades and customization

The patch introduces Ghost Flowers, a new currency that can be exchanged with a new vendor. The update lists:

  • More than 30 new cosmetics, including new armor sets and weapon dyes.
  • 10 new charms to further tailor builds.
  • An additional upgrade tier for existing armor sets and weapons.

Base game improvements beyond NG+

Outside of New Game Plus, the patch enhances the core experience:

  • Post-game replay options – revisit content after the main story, now with a new stats display.
  • Accessibility updates – directional button remapping.
  • Photo Mode tools – shutter speed control, a composition grid and new filters.

Roadmap note

The studio also points to its next milestone: Ghost of Yōtei Legends is planned for 2026.

Final takeaway – Why it matters

This update doubles down on replay value and build experimentation. New Game Plus, tougher modes and new gear paths give returning players a reason to re-run the campaign, while accessibility and Photo Mode upgrades round out the feature set for all audiences.

Footnote: Available via patch 1.100.000. Internet connection and PlayStation account required.
