Annapurna Interactive’s People of Note – a musical turn-based RPG – has confirmed its expanded cast and shown a fresh in-game performance, Mashup. The track spotlights how vocalist and voice pairings work in the game’s musical narrative. The publisher states the title will launch later this year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere release. A previously released opening number, Under the Lights, is also available to watch.

The announcement names both voice actors and singing performers – in several cases these are different people paired to portray a single character’s dialogue and songs.

  • Synthia – voiced by Erika Ishii; sung by Amanda Angeles
  • Sharp – voiced and sung by Joe Zieja (known for Bruce Banner in Marvel Rivals and Wriothesley in Genshin Impact)
  • Cadence – performed by Heather Gonzalez and Lexxe
  • Fret – voiced and sung by Jason Charles Miller
  • Martell – voiced by Debra Wilson (The Outer Wilds 2; Star Wars Jedi: Survivor)

How the Performances Come Together

Not every character uses the same performer for acting and singing – the team emphasized that matching energy and attitude between paired performers was crucial so that dialogue and vocals feel like one cohesive character. This production choice is central to how People of Note blends RPG storytelling with staged musical numbers.

Cast Insights

“As a lifelong devotee of musical theater, Final Fantasy fan, cosplayer, and orchestra nerd (or orc dork, as we dubbed ourselves), I’m thrilled to be part of my dear friend’s vibrant and clever game,” said Erika Ishii. “Jason and the team have been working passionately to make the game we always wanted to play, and I can’t wait for everyone to discover the world of Note.”

Joe Zieja on voicing and singing Sharp: “When they asked ‘can you play a British ‘80s pop star in his 50s, and sing like one too?’ my answer was an enthusiastic ‘maybe?’ Trusting myself behind the mic as an actor is one thing – trusting myself behind the mic as a singer was a totally new experience for me in a video game. I came out of our sessions PUMPED. I can’t wait for fans to meet this insufferable has-been!”

Debra Wilson on Martell: “Everything in the known Universe is sound and vibration… and so it is with music! This game was a privilege to be part of to tell this ‘funky’ story that places music at the forefront of every character, and captivates our own ‘song of life!!’ Play on, baby! Play on!”

Platforms and Launch Window

People of Note is slated to release later this year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud. The studio confirms it will ship as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.

Final Take – What It Means for Players

With dual performer pairings and a clarified cast list, the project’s direction is coming into focus – setting expectations for a story-driven, music-forward RPG that puts characters and songs on equal footing.
