Niantic is rolling out a seasonal update in Pikmin Bloom focused on chocolate‑themed content throughout February. The headline addition is the debut of 2026 Chocolate Decor Pikmin – styled after white chocolate – alongside the return of last year’s Chocolate Decor set. The event weaves these variants into missions, mushroom encounters, and limited‑time drops. Randomness still plays a role, but several mechanics guarantee specific rewards at key moments. Below is a breakdown of what’s changing and when.

What's New This Month

The update introduces 2026 Chocolate Decor Pikmin and re‑enables 2025 Chocolate Decor Pikmin for a second chance to collect. There’s a technical note worth flagging: app version v136 or later is required for the 2026 Chocolate Decor visuals to display correctly. Also, 2026 Chocolate Decor is available for Ice Pikmin, while the earlier Chocolate Decor set is not supported for Ice Pikmin.

How Event Challenges Pay Out

Clearing Event Challenge missions yields randomized in‑app rewards that can include Gift Bows, seedlings for 2026 Chocolate Decor Pikmin, flower petals, and other items. A key tweak to predictability: when the Big Flower at the center of the event stage blooms, players receive a Gold Seedling in addition to the regular random rewards.

About Those Seedlings

  • Seedlings from Event Challenge missions can grow into any of the eight available types of 2026 Chocolate Decor Pikmin.
  • Acquisition is random – players are not guaranteed to complete the full set.

Gift Bow Missions and Seasonal Cosmetics

At event start, missions task players with collecting Gift Bows. Completing them awards seedlings for Chocolate Decor Pikmin and seasonal costumes for the player’s Mii character. Gift Bows can drop from Event Challenge rewards, flower planting, and Mystery Boxes from Colorful Mushrooms. Once the event ends, Gift Bow missions disappear. The update also notes that Koma Spinning Tops have no purpose outside this event.

Colorful Mushrooms and Who Hits Hardest

Colorful Mushrooms can appear during the event. Destroying them grants Mystery Boxes that contain various items along with Gift Bows. The following Decor Pikmin offer the best performance against these mushrooms:

  • 2026 Chocolate Decor Pikmin
  • Chocolate Decor Pikmin (returning set)
  • Lunar New Year Ornament: Red Decor Pikmin
  • Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold Decor Pikmin

Lunar New Year Ornament Decor Returns (Feb 4-28)

From February 4-28, Mystery Boxes from Colorful Mushrooms may sometimes include seedlings for Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold Decor Pikmin as an extra reward. These seedlings can grow into Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Winged, Purple, or Rock variants. As with the chocolate set, distribution is random and does not guarantee a complete collection.

Bottom Line – What It Means for Players

The February update leans into collectible variety and repeatable objectives – Event Challenges, Gift Bow missions, and Mushroom encounters all feed into a single loop of decor hunting. If you’re aiming at the new 2026 Chocolate Decor Pikmin or the returning Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold variants, plan your runs around Colorful Mushrooms and stage blooms, and update to v136+ to avoid visual issues.
