Pikmin Bloom ushers in 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin this December

Niantic has outlined December’s Pikmin Bloom Holiday Event, centering on the debut of 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin. The seasonal update spans the entire month and layers in returning winter-themed decor sets alongside new and returning mission types. Players can pursue event challenges for a shot at fresh seedlings and resources, with a guaranteed high-tier drop from the event’s core stage mechanic. Several decor Pikmin receive temporary combat advantages during the window.

The announcement clarifies availability across Pikmin types and shares technical requirements to see the new content as intended. It also details how to encounter special mushrooms, what the Mystery Boxes can contain, and how Snow Crystal missions will function during the event period.

Dates and timing

The Holiday Event runs Dec. 1-31 (local time) – from 12:00 a.m. on Dec. 1 to 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31. All features and rewards apply within this window based on each player’s local timezone.

How to earn 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin

Clearing Event Challenge missions grants randomized in-app rewards that can include Snow Crystals, seedlings that grow into 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin, flower petals, and other items. When the Big Flower at the center of the stage blooms, players also receive a guaranteed Gold Seedling in addition to the random rewards.

Event Challenge seedlings can grow into any of the 8 available 2025 Ornament Decor types. Encounters are random, and completing the full set is not guaranteed. The 2025 Ornament decor is also available for Ice Pikmin.

Returning decor sets and availability

Ball Ornament and Mitten Decor Pikmin return during the event. These two decor variants are not available for Ice Pikmin.

Bizarre Mushrooms and Mystery Boxes

Players may encounter Bizarre Mushrooms during the event. Destroying them awards Mystery Boxes that can contain items such as Snow Crystals and seedlings for Ball Ornament Decor Pikmin, among other rewards. The 2025 Ornament, Ball Ornament, and Mitten Decor Pikmin are the strongest options against these mushrooms, and during the event they are also slightly stronger than usual against all mushroom types.

If a player receives a Mushroom Battle Bullhorn call to a Bizarre Mushroom before the event starts in their timezone, they can join and, if successful, the reward will be the Holiday Event Mystery Box. Joining a Bizarre Mushroom battle after the event ends in the player’s timezone will not yield a Mystery Box.

Snow Crystals and event missions

At the start of the event, missions to collect Snow Crystals become available. Clearing these missions can grant seedlings for Mitten Decor Pikmin. Snow Crystals can also be obtained from Event Challenge rewards, flower planting, and Mystery Boxes earned by destroying Bizarre Mushrooms.

Once the event ends, the Snow Crystals missions disappear, and Snow Crystals have no purpose outside of this event.

To display the new 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin correctly, the app requires version v133 or later.
