Ubisoft has switched on its first wave of Activision titles for streaming on Ubisoft+ Premium, marking the initial step in a broader rollout following its August 2023 acquisition of cloud streaming rights to Activision and Blizzard catalogs. The launch arrives with an initial cloud integration via NVIDIA GeForce NOW, with Ubisoft stating that additional cloud providers will be supported later. The company frames this as a way to expand where and how players access well-known franchises. More Activision and Blizzard games are planned to join the service over time.

How the cloud integration works

Ubisoft’s move stems from its August 2023 deal to acquire cloud streaming rights for Activision and Blizzard titles. The first delivery mechanism is NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and Ubisoft notes that availability through additional cloud providers will follow. A factual note for users: GeForce NOW membership is separate from Ubisoft+ Premium and requires its own subscription.

Ubisoft’s stated goal and what’s next

Ubisoft positions the initiative as both a boost to Ubisoft+ content and a way to license streaming access to third parties. More Activision and Blizzard games are confirmed to be on the way, though no specific dates were provided for future additions or for the rollout to other cloud platforms.

“Our acquisition of the cloud streaming rights for Activision & Blizzard titles enables us to further strengthen the Ubisoft+ content offering as well as license streaming access of this amazing catalog to cloud gaming companies, service providers and console makers,” said Chris Early, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Ubisoft.

Why this matters for players

Key takeaway – Ubisoft is beginning to aggregate major third-party franchises into its cloud-accessible catalog, starting with Call of Duty, Crash, and Spyro. For players, this means more ways to stream familiar series across supported cloud platforms, with additional Activision and Blizzard titles expected to follow as integrations expand.
