Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 arrives Dec 30 – co-op debut and Season 2 finale
HoYoverse has dated the next major update for its urban action RPG. Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5, “To Be Fuel for the Night,” launches on December 30 and serves as the culminating chapter of Season 2. The update expands the ongoing storyline around the Lemnian Hollow and introduces multiplayer co-op for the first time. Two S-Rank agents – Ye Shunguang and Zhao – headline the character additions, alongside community and combat system improvements. The studio frames 2.5 as a pivotal moment for New Eridu’s narrative arc.
Season 2’s endgame: Hollow expansion and rising threats

The Season 2 finale centers on the Lemnian Hollow’s unusual growth and the spread of white flowers into Failume Heights – a phenomenon previously confined to the Hollows. After drawing on the Qingming Sword’s primordial power, Ye Shunguang must reckon with its cost. Players will join Shunguang and Zhao of the Krampus Compliance Authority to investigate anomalies in the Lumite Mine, probe the Exaltists’ conspiracy, and confront a decisive battle on the Waifei Peninsula.
New playable agents

- Ye Shunguang – S-Rank Honed Edge Attack Agent and the game’s first dual-form Void Hunter. She uses the Qingming Sword to switch between fluid strike patterns and explosive burst phases.
- Zhao – S-Rank Ice Defense Agent from the Krampus Compliance Authority, positioned to bolster team survivability and support Shunguang in key encounters.
Co-op and limited-time events

Version 2.5 introduces Zenless Zone Zero’s first multiplayer combat feature and refreshes existing modes with new twists.
- Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze – a limited-time 3-player co-op event focused on coordinated challenges and dynamic combat scenarios.
- Upgrades to Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault diversify repeatable content and encounter variants.

Community features and quality-of-life changes
Beyond combat, 2.5 aims to streamline progression and expand social play within New Eridu.

- Proxy Outpost – an in-game forum where players can form interest-based outposts, share posts, post commissions, and accept tasks.
- Combat Simulation quick-sweep – spend Ether Batteries to quickly obtain agent promotion materials and Drive Discs, reducing routine grind.
