Borderlands 4 roadmap locks in holiday DLC, event and an ‘Invincible’ boss
During a panel at PAX Australia, the Borderlands team laid out the next stops on the Borderlands 4 post-launch roadmap. The plan covers a holiday-themed paid DLC, a limited-time seasonal event, and new endgame content arriving before the end of 2025. The studio also reiterated that more updates are slated for 2026. Below is a breakdown of the timing and the key features that are officially confirmed.
How Rush Saved Mercenary Day – Bounty Pack 1 lands November 20, 2025

The first Bounty Pack is a paid DLC that delivers a bite-sized narrative arc set around the in-universe holiday Mercenary Day. It centers on Rush, leader of the Outbounders, who tries to bring festive cheer to Kairos – and clashes with Screw, the Timekeeper’s Minister of Culture, across new Main Missions. Expect story content plus earnable gear and cosmetics via a Vault Card.
- Release date: November 20, 2025
- Vault Card rewards: 24 cosmetic items and 4 rerollable weapons (rerollable gear can be earned repeatedly to chase desired stats)
- Cosmetics on the card: 4 Vault Hunter Heads, 4 Vault Hunter Skins, 5 Weapon Skins, 5 Vehicle Skins, 4 ECHO-4 Drone Skins, 2 ECHO-4 Attachments
- Additional content in the pack: 1 new Digirunner vehicle (available early in the storyline), plus 1 Vault Hunter Skin and 1 ECHO-4 Drone Skin awarded after beating the pack’s boss and completing the final Main Mission

Vault Cards grant extra loot and XP through daily and weekly challenges and can be leveled at your own pace – there are no time limits on progression or rewards.
Horrors of Kairos – free Seasonal Mini-Event runs October 23-November 6, 2025

The first limited-time seasonal event brings a short, eerie twist to world boss encounters. During the event window, those fights shift the weather to blood rain and can drop two new Legendary items as part of boss kill rewards.
- “Murmur” Legendary Tediore Assault Rifle: Executes weakened enemies with guaranteed critical hits on targets below 35% health
- “Skully” Legendary Order Grenade: A seeking grenade that fires projectiles as it hunts the nearest target

Endgame in December – Bloomreaper the Invincible and a new UVHM level
December 2025 brings the first “Invincible” raid-style boss to Borderlands 4 as a free update. Bloomreaper the Invincible is designed as a late-game challenge – not literally unkillable, but built with huge health pools, extremely lethal damage, and new modifiers that punish unprepared builds. Defeating Bloomreaper grants a chance at all-new Legendary loot.

What’s next in 2026
The team notes that the roadmap extends beyond 2025, with more paid and free updates in 2026. A teaser has introduced C4SH, the first of two new Vault Hunters coming in paid Story Packs, with release timing to be announced.
Weekly update notes continue to roll out, with the studio highlighting ongoing performance improvements across platforms, including PC.
Final takeaway – how to plan your return to Kairos
If you want new story beats and cosmetics, circle November 20 for Bounty Pack 1; for a short burst of Halloween-flavored loot-hunting, jump in between October 23- November 6; and if you crave endgame tests, prepare for Bloomreaper and the added UVHM level in December. The cadence sets a clear loop – seasonal challenge, narrative drop, then a raid-style wall – to keep late-game builds evolving.
