Bandai Namco has outlined the next phase for DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Zero. In an official blog post, producer Jun Furutani confirmed work on a new DLC and released a trailer that previews part of the content. The add-on aims to broaden the game beyond its existing roster expansions. A platform-specific roadmap sets expectations through summer 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, with a separate rollout on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Free modes are also on the way.

What's in the New Dlc

The upcoming DLC is designed to extend the “Dragon Ball” feel with more than just fighters. According to Furutani, it will add new playable characters, fan-requested costumes, stages and a new single-player mode.

“We are currently working on a new DLC for DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Zero.”

“We decided to develop a new DLC that includes various elements beyond just characters.”

These statements were published by producer Jun Furutani in the official update.

Platform Roadmap and Dates

For PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam – the versions released ahead of other platforms – the new DLC is scheduled for summer 2026. The team also plans ongoing support through free updates, including additional modes.

Free Modes: Mission 100 and Survival

A free update will add Mission 100 – a solo mode featuring 100 battles with predefined conditions for both opponents and the player’s team. The structure is described as similar to content in DRAGON BALL Z Sparking! METEOR (Budokai Tenkaichi 3), with returning mission types that series veterans may recognize.

Another free update is planned to introduce a Survival Mode by spring. No additional details were provided in the announcement.

Switch and Switch 2 Rollout

On Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, DLC included in the Season Pass will start rolling out this winter. The release schedule for the new DLC and other free updates on these platforms will differ from the timeline on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.

Why It Matters – a Clearer Path for Long-Term Support

With a firm summer 2026 target for the next major DLC on current-gen platforms and free modes on the way, the roadmap sets expectations for both returning players and newcomers. The focus on expanded single-player content and classic-style challenges suggests sustained support across platforms, with Switch timing tailored separately.
