MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE has kicked off Season 15, marking the game’s first new season of 2026. The update centers on two additions – Fumikage Tokoyami joining the roster and a fourth stage, Neo Academia – alongside multiple combat and usability changes. The development team also outlined balance targets and a known issue slated for fixes in the following season. Below are the key features and the developer’s focus areas based on the official announcement.

New playable character – Fumikage Tokoyami

Tokoyami enters as a flexible fighter built to contest long-, mid-, and close-range encounters by coordinating with his Quirk, Dark Shadow. His kit emphasizes mobility, spacing, and situational defense.

  • Ranged pressure: Quirk Skills α and β enable long-distance attacks by directing Dark Shadow.
  • Aerial mobility: Special Action “Twin Wings of the Black Arm” lets Tokoyami glide and reposition in the air – he can use items while gliding.
  • Gap close and melee: Special Action “Black Ankh” instantly shortens distance and empowers close-quarters follow-ups.
  • Guard utility: Quirk Skill γ orders Dark Shadow to block incoming attacks. While this guard is active, Tokoyami can use items, open Item Boxes, or rescue allies, and the skill remains available even when Downed.

The design encourages active coordination with Dark Shadow – a give-and-take rhythm where offense, defense, and mobility interlock.

New stage – Neo Academia and its Sky Area

Season 15 adds the game’s fourth map, Neo Academia, shaped around a distinctive central zone. At its heart sits the floating “Sky Area” – an isolated platform designed to reduce interference from ground skirmishes and reframe mid-match rotations.

  • Teleporter system: One-way Teleporters move players instantly to set locations on contact. They become unusable as the Safe Area shrinks and time advances, making them most impactful in the early- to mid-battle phases.
  • Traversal via Sky Area: Players can route through the Sky Area to reach other zones, enabling new rotation strategies and flanks.

Beyond the center, the map mixes diverse layouts that stress positioning and movement:

  • A city zone blending traditional Japanese houses with high-rises for vertical variance.
  • An area threaded with a complex network of pipes.
  • Construction sites optimized for easy vertical movement.
  • Hospitals featuring multi-level interiors and underground laboratories.

The team frames Neo Academia as a battleground where tactical movement and precise positioning are key to winning engagements.

Season 15 gameplay updates

  • Item usability improvements.
  • Aerial combat adjustments to make airborne attacks easier to execute.
  • The ability to pick up items while taking damage.

Full technical details are listed in the official patch notes.

Balance outlook and known issues for next season

The developer flagged several Battle Styles as currently stronger than intended and outlined changes planned for the next season:

  • Armored All Might – burn damage from Quirk Skill α.
  • Shigaraki TomuraQuirk Skill α when paired with evasion cancel.
  • Lady Nagantaerial fighting and Special Action.

Additionally, the team confirmed an issue that can keep certain characters airborne for extended periods under specific conditions. A fix is being prepared for the next season.

Developer note

“We will continue working hard so that more players can enjoy the game.” – Yokoyama, Producer

Bottom line – What this means for players

Tokoyami’s all-range toolkit and the Teleporter-centric Neo Academia reshape engagements both on the ground and in the air, while Season 15’s aerial and item handling tweaks streamline combat flow. With balance adjustments and a fix for prolonged airborne states planned for the next season, players can expect the meta to evolve further in the near term.
